Speyside is the home of the largest number of distilleries in Scotland, with 51 distilleries working! Over 50% of the total number of distilleries in Scotland are located in the Moray Speyside region, so often called “Malt Whisky Country”. This perfect weather contributes to the growth of barley, which, when combined with the water of the River Spey, produces the “Water of Life,” usually lighter and sweeter than other Scotch single malts.

You will spend a beautiful day in the Moray Speyside region exploring some of the well-known distilleries and also discovering the hidden gems in the area. Usually, on a day, you can fit up to 3 distilleries, depending on what kind of experiences you will have on each of them. Enjoy the stunning landscape of hills and the majestic River Spey following us during our drive.

You will also have time to explore the local gastronomy as part of your whisky adventure. If it is a quick lunch or a more elaborate one, Moray Speyside has great restaurants waiting for you.

The duration of the Speyside Whisky Day Tour is between 8 and 10 hours, depending on the departure location

Please check the distillery's website for further information, especially on seasonality: some tours and tastings are available only during the Summer season.

Some distilleries will be closed at the end of the season, and others will have a reduced opening during the winter.

The number of distilleries to be selected and visited on the day may vary depending on the tours/experiences/tastings booked, their times, opening hours, and travel between sites.

Travel between distillery sites: Speyside is a vast region - an average car journey between distilleries is 20 - 25 minutes; in some cases, due to location and chosen itinerary, it can be up to 50 minutes.

It is highly recommended to contact us to discuss your requirements before booking all experiences, as you may want to include a more exclusive lunch and/or sightseeing along the way, and we need to manage times and logistics to check whether it will be doable or not.
