Ballindalloch Castle (seasonal - Easter time to September)

Often called the “Pearl of the North,” Ballindalloch Castle is a stunning 16th-century Scottish castle located in the heart of the Speyside region, Moray. Set amidst lush gardens and rolling countryside, it has been the ancestral home of the Macpherson-Grant family for over 400 years. The castle boasts beautifully preserved interiors, antique furnishings, and an impressive collection of Scottish art and memorabilia.

Elgin Cathedral

Elgin Cathedral, also known as the ‘Lantern of the North is a majestic, historic ruin situated in Elgin. Also, it is one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval buildings, dating back to the 13th century. Elgin Cathedral has a rich history - it was badly fire-damaged in 1390 following an attack by Robert III's brother, Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who was also known as the ‘Wolf of Badenoch’. Well worth a visit, and the climb of the tower is a must-do when in Elgin.

Also, on-site, you will find their luxury shop selling clothing, a gift shop with local and Scottish products, and a fantastic restaurant with a varied menu with locally sourced products.

Knockando Woolmill (MON-FRI)

Knockando Woolmill is a beautifully preserved working wool mill in Speyside, near the River Spey, and one of the oldest of its kind still in operation in Scotland.

Dating back to the 18th century, the mill offers a rare glimpse into traditional textile production. Inside, you can see original machinery—much of it still belt-driven—being used to card, spin, and weave wool in much the same way it has been done for generations.

Craigellachie Bridge

Craigellachie Bridge is a cast-iron arch bridge across the River Spey at Craigellachie, near the village of Aberlour in Moray, Scotland. It was designed by the renowned civil engineer Thomas Telford and built from 1812 to 1815. It is the oldest surviving cast-iron bridge in Scotland and is considered one of the finest of its type in Britain.

Speyside is the home of the largest number of distilleries in Scotland, with 51 distilleries working! This perfect weather contributes to the growing of barley, which, when combined with the water of the River Spey, produces the “Water of Life”, usually lighter and sweeter than other Scotch single malts.
